Meet the Mount Annan Swimming Club Committee

We are a passionate team of parents & volunteers committed to creating a thriving Swimming Club for our members.

Office Bearers 

President & Club Coach – Joe Grant (mount.annan.swimming@gmail.com)

Coach Joe has been club coach for 12 years in total. He was the founding coach and established Mount Annan Swimming Club in 2002. Joe left MASC in 2007 and returned 2016 where he continues to develop our swimmers. Joe’s coaching foundation is technique development and he encourages swimmers to develop sound technique across all four strokes. Joe serves on our committee as President and gives a significant amount of his own time to support our swimmers at club and at major swim meets. Vice President & Member Protection Officer – Megan Attard

Megan serves on our committee as Vice President on club nights you’ll find her on pool deck starting our races as the Starter.

Secretary & Social Secretary – Carina Southern (mount.annan.swimming@gmail.com)

Carina serves on the committee as Secretary & Social Secretary. She has 1 daughter in the club, Alexandra and joined the committee in 2020. Carina can usually be found at the registration table on a Friday night if you’d like a chat.

Treasurer & Member Protection Officer – Darren Hooton 

I have been a part of MASCM since my daughters joined the club in 2011. I have been involved with the club as a parent regularly helping out on a Friday night or at carnivals and joined the committee in 2014 as Club Treasurer. As the Treasurer we help keep track of the clubs money and make sure expenses are paid. We are also responsible for reporting the clubs financial position to Wests and the committee. I’m also the Member Protection Officer for the club which means I’m there to help if things don’t go to plan or our members have a problem. So if you are looking for me, I can be found at the end of the pool with a stopwatch.

Registrar – Nicola Watson (mountannanregistrar@gmail.com)

Nicola has been part of MASC since 2014 when Lily took an interest in swimming and has been part of the committee since 2017. She is responsible for the creation of membership products within Swim Central. Nicola also provides information to new members and prospective members. Committee Positions

Internal Race Secretary – Leanne Knox (mount.annan.club.night@gmail.com)

Leanne first joined her daughters with MASC in 2016 following swimming lessons at ‘The Y’ since her eldest was 6 months old. Leanne volunteered her time for the committee 3 seasons ago, first starting out as External Race Secretary and now the Internal Race Secretary. Leanne’s role is setting up club night entries in Swim Central, running the timing system and scoring the results for end of season awards. External Race Secretary – Michelle Sullivan (mountannanracesecretary@gmail.com)

Michelle has two children Sean & Angelica and started at MASC in December 2018. She has recently joined the committee. Michelle organizes MASC external carnivals. She also organizes relay teams & coordinates time keeping duties when requested for external events. Property Officer – Scott Lester

Scott has been with MASC for 4 years and joined the committee this 2022. He has 2 Daughters in the club Rihanna and Marlie who have been swimming at the Leisure Centre since they were 2 years of age. He’s at the pool every afternoon except Thursday if you would like to chat with Scott or catch him Friday nights at club. See Scott if you need a cap replacement or need new uniforms.

Webmaster – Vacant 

We are looking for a Webmaster/Social media person, if you are interested in supporting our club please contact Joe Grant.

Webmaster is responsible for promoting the clubs image through the club web page and social media (Facebook and Instagram).

Sponsorship/Fundraising Officer – Vacant (masc.sponsorship@gmail.com)

We are looking for a Sponsorship & Fundraising officer, if you are interested in supporting our club please contact Joe Grant.

The sponsorship and fundraising officer is responsible for seeking sponsorship opportunities and proposals for the club, to ensure the club’s sponsorship requirements are met.
